Model and entrepreneur Kara Young stole the red carpet at the recent Tony Awards in New York with her purple lips, which contrasted starkly with her super-short platinum crop. Her cat eye lash extensions and strong microbladed brows finished off the look with aplomb.
Also going for a dramatic look, albeit in more traditional colours, at the Tony Awards
(which recognises excellence in live Broadway theatre) was stage and TV star, Lea
Michele, with volume lashes, cat’s eye liner and red lips that toned in perfectly with her pretty floral frock.
Actress Sharon Washington’s pink, ombre eye shadow not only looked amazing, but it was totally the same shade as her gown. Speaking of coloured shadow, Audra
McDonald opted for blue to set off her navy dress.
Oscar-winner Arian DeBose was all about the bold eyes, brows and lips, while Stephanie Hsu opted for a muted, subtle palette.
Jessica Chastain looked lovely with smoky shadow and peach lipstick that matched her strawberry blonde hair.
One of the stars who flew the flag for deep red lipstick was the legendary Marcia Gay Harden, whose postbox-red lips offset her marble-like complexion.
