Mimmie Lancaster, well known to the South African spa community in a consultancy role, has created her own skincare brand called, I Am Me.
Lancaster, who is founder and owner of Symmetry World, says: “I have dreamt of starting my own skincare line for over 12 years and can now finally see the light.”
JEMM has been appointed as the local distributor for I Am Me and held a small launch at the Cellars-Hohenhort Hotel in Cape Town in late October, where the brand was introduced to industry experts.
The range includes peeling systems, serums and skincare essentials, utilising scientifically proven, internationally recognised key ingredients sourced from established and renowned laboratories across Europe, all combined with new-generation actives.
Says Lancaster: “The vision for both the brand and product line was inspired by my experience in the beauty industry, an in-depth knowledge of the skincare business and the real needs of consumers. I am a therapist at heart, so my desire was to create an exceptional line of products with an accompanying business model that would provide therapists the freedom to build their businesses more sustainably, while continuing to deliver outstanding treatment results to their clientele.
“After spending more than three decades helping owners and colleagues build their salons, spas and skincare brands, I truly understand how challenging the industry can be for therapists who run their own businesses.”
Formulations are vegan-friendly and free from the following: parabens, mineral oil & phthalates, and animal testing. The entire product manufacturing process boasts an ISO 22716 certification. (Report by Joanna Sterkowicz)
