The Sorbet Salon Group’s recently launched ‘Hello Me’ campaign aims to celebrate beauty in all its forms, shapes and sizes while encouraging a positive personal outlook and image.
Said marketing executive for the Sorbet Group, Candice Thurston, at the recent launch in Johannesburg: “We’ve been discussing how the Group can talk about beauty in terms of how we can make the Sorbet guest the best version of herself. The ‘Hello Me’ campaign is all about the relationship you have with yourself and how to embrace your inner Goddess. Our ‘Hello Me’ challenge with its message of positive beauty will have a TikTok component, as we are wanting to broaden our reach beyond Sorbet’s traditional target market of 35 plus, to a younger audience.”
Thurston noted that studies have shown an association between the social environment and the behaviors, feelings and thoughts of individuals. These thoughts are usually passed on from parents, peers and overt mainstream media messages that encourage the ‘appearance culture’. With embedded norms in relation to how society feels one should look, overwhelming pressure is put on girls and young women to conform, which in turn affects their self-esteem when they do or do not meet these sometimes unattainable societal standards of beauty. “This campaign is very close to my heart as most of us can relate to battling with insecurities. Growing up, beauty was defined by how tall or skinny you looked. With the ‘Hello Me’ campaign, we hope to encourage our customers to embrace and celebrate who they are and realise that there is no perfection where beauty is concerned,” stated Thurston.
The public is invited to join the ‘Hello Me’ challenge by doing the following: Celebrate something you love about yourself; Snap a pic and complete: Hello Me. Hello _____________; Tag @sorbetgroup, get your friends and family to also join the challenge. A Sorbet Make-Over Experience is up for grabs. Plus, Sorbet will be spoiling guests with 20% off their favourite treatments until 24 June.
