SA’s top beauty suppliers to be honoured

Salons and spas are encouraged to nominate their top suppliers for Professional Beauty’s Annual Industry Awards, which will take place at a gala dinner in Johannesburg on 23 February 2020.

These are the most prestigious and sought awards in the industry. Says Phil Woods, commercial director of Professional Beauty: “In an effort to make the Industry Awards fairer, we are introducing a new way of producing the list of winners. Rather than using a voting system, we will ask the three nominees in each category to provide us with 20 of their client details. We will then have an independent company call 10 of the 20 clients and run through some survey questions. The questions have a score from 1-5, with 1 being poor and 5 being outstanding. Each person called will also be asked to give an overall comment on the service received.

“The scores will be totted up and the company with the highest score wins. In the event of a tie, a panel of judges will decide on the winner after reviewing the comments from each person phoned.”

Categories in the Industry Awards are: Best Skin Care Supplier; Best Nail Product Suppliers; Best Body Product/Wax Supplier; Best Training Supplier; Best Marketing Material and Campaigns; and Best Sales Representative.
