SA participates in online global conference

A session featuring senior South African spa executives is included in the Professional Beauty Group’s free online World Spa & Wellness Conference, running from 12 to 14 May.

Themed, ‘Spa 2.0 – Life after lockdown’, the South Africa session, which runs on Thursday, 14 May at 12h30 (SA time), will examine possible scenarios of how spas may be required to operate post lockdown, and of the challenges that lie ahead. Panels will also delve into how the pre-COVID-19 growing global trend of wellness can be incorporated into the spa offering.The South African panel comprises World Wellness Weekend SA Ambassador, Taryn Lilley (Spa Manager at Cape Grace); Debbie Merdjan (CEO of Camelot Spa Group); Tanya Lopes (Spa Manager at The Saxon); and John Lambrou (Managing Partner of Life Day Spa Century City and Waterfront).

These spa executives will join dozens of industry professionals from all over the globe who are participating in Professional Beauty’s World Spa & Wellness Conference. While many of the international sessions focus on resetting and restarting your business, other topics include: Insights from the Global Wellness Institute; The well in being: supporting your teams during COVID-19 and beyond; What Spas can learn from innovative Fitness operators; Brand Collaboration: Two + Two = Ten (How spas can work with brands to launch interesting services and reach new customers); The Future of Wellness Tourism; and How to catch the COVID curveball, among other topics.
