SAASHP, the Professional Body for the Skin, Body & Nail Care Industry in South Africa, has announced its new board.
Philippa Crichton takes up the reins as SAAHSP president, assisted by two vice presidents, namely Lisa Mgotyelwa and Menna Kleine.
Yvette Marais is finance director, with Sheila Otieno-Osanya in the role of marketing director.
The other positions are filled by: Dr Blessing Uzokwe (ethics director); Thando Mkhize (education director); Talent Zhou (compliance nail representative director); Yolande Swanepoel (co-opted Professional Body coordinator CPD and designations); and Joelette Theron (executive director).
Advisory Members of SAAHSP are: Helene Bramwell, Debbie Merdjan, and Isabel Roos.
Commenting on Philippa Crichton’s appointment as SAAHSP president, Theron says: “Philippa has been involved in the beauty, health and skincare industry since 1985, when she qualified as a beauty therapist at the London Institute of Beauty Culture in England.
“Philippa has always been very involved in the industry, serving first on the SAIHBTh (South African Institute of Health and Beauty Therapy) board and then becoming president of SAAHSP and the BHSEA (Beauty, Health and Skincare Employers Association) in 1999.”
