A spa and wellness centre will form part of Botswana’s DumaTau wildlife safari camp revamp, expected to open in the first quarter of this year.

Situated in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Chobe National Park, DumaTau Camp has been around since 1997 as an offering of luxury safari operator, Wilderness Safaris. The camp is known for its massive elephant concentrations.

According to Spa Business magazine, the renovation project includes the addition of the new, Little DumaTau camp, which offers an intimate camp experience. The wellness space and a one-treatment-room spa, gym and deli are found between the two camps, overlooking the Osprey Lagoon. It is believed that the spa will offer massages, facials and nail services.

As per the mahlatini.com website, the improved, solar-powered camp will offer eight tents in total, including one family unit. All the tents will have en-suite bathroom facilities, an outside shower and a private plunge pool. Each tent will have views over the floodplains and lagoon and more views are available from the expansive decks of the communal areas, as well as the decked pool area.

Both DumaTau Camp and Little DumaTau will offer a ‘Star Bed’ sleep out experience for adventurous guests wishing to sleep under the stars.
