Award-winning entrepreneur and founder of Dee’s African Spa, Dineo Molefe, and Fancourt spa manager, Nadia Rudolph, are two of the latest speakers to confirm for the World Spa & Wellness (WSW) Convention (1 & 2 September, Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand).
The WSW Convention runs alongside the Professional Beauty Johannesburg Show, the biggest trade event of its kind in Africa.
Molefe and Rudolph will from part of the ‘Two-Way Transmission’ panel session, along with Francisco Garcia, manager at TAJ Cape Town’s Jiva Spa. They will unpack how effective communications and cross-promotion between hotel and spa can aid in attracting guests into the spa. The session takes place at 10h20 on Monday, 2 September.
Verona Duwarkah, who comes from a broadcasting and business background, will present a unique perspective in the ‘Charting Your Way through the Spa Obstacle Course’, as she is in the process of developing a wellness centre.
Other speakers on this panel include international keynote speaker, Melinda Yon, the Singapore-based technical services director of Spa & Wellness at Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, Nuncia Pereira, spa manager at The Fairway, and Marion van Maltzahn, founder of the Ciana Day Spa in Swakopmund, Namibia. This session will take place on Monday, 2 September at 14h30.
An intriguing panel session is sure to be ‘Tech Talk’ (Sunday, 1 September at 10h35), which looks at the use of digital technologies in the spa to enhance the guest’s wellbeing versus digital detox in the spa. Speakers are Urban Bliss Wellness Spa founder, Ayesha Rajah, business entrepreneur and somatologist, Melloney Rijnvis, and spa coach, Tarryn Sacher.
