Dominating social media, keeping your business on track, wellness, and retailing strategies will be addressed by experts at the conference element of the Professional Beauty Durban Expo, which takes place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 2 June.

Keshantha Naidoo of Channel Reach, a marketing, branding and communications agency with an innovatively digital approach, will talk about creating content from visual to written and tailoring content to your audience. Naidoo will explain how to feed content to your target market via social media platforms. Delegates will learn how to use hashtags, keywords and analytics to best promote their content for maximum exposure. They will also learn about consumer behaviour and buying patterns.

Co Van Doorn, who has been working as hairstylist for 36 years – 31 of those years as the owner of his own business – will show spa and salon owners and managers how to keep their businesses on track. On top of working as a celebrated stylist, Van Doorn is well known for his public speaking and his inspiring, sometimes hard-hitting rhetoric, never ignores the elephant in the room. He has been involved for many years as a trainer in the industry.

A session called, ‘Wellness – today’s buzz word, tomorrow’s benefit’, will reveal how the term wellness is an often overused word nowadays and how it’s sometimes hard to nail down effective regimes to cover this topic. This session will show how wellness fits into the beauty and spa sector. (Speakers to be confirmed)

As any spa or salon owner will know, retail should play a big part in your businesses’ overall turnover. In the ‘Retail like a Boss!’ session, Marisa Dimitriadis, CEO of The Spa Consultants will provide some practical solutions on retailing. After all, the client is already on your premises, you are halfway to a sale, so the challenge is to maintain and ensure the longevity of your client’s services through the sale of home care products and keep them coming back.

In addition, there will be a motivational session at the conference called, ‘Anything is possible if you just believe!’ We all need a bit of motivation sometimes, life does sometimes seem to be ganging up on us. Get some excellent life pointers from our motivational speaker, be entertained, hear thought provoking statements and get a boost in your life. (Speaker to be confirmed)

The latest releases and launches from top beauty, nail, shair and medical aesthetics brands will be showcased at the Professional Durban Expo, which runs alongside the conference.

PLEASE NOTE: while entrance to the Professional Beauty Durban Expo is free, tickets to the conference are priced at R550 per delegate. The price includes lunch as well as refreshments throughout the day.
