With a new momentum and drive, SAAHSP has made a pledge to promote more inclusivity at board level. Feroza Fakir has been hard at work with various projects to promote SAAHSP and increase presence within industry since her return to the board in February 2023.
Past President Philippa Crichton has stepped down in her role as president to support the promotion of Feroza as President, making her the first Person of Colour to hold this position within SAAHSP. This is a momentous time for SAAHSP and another historical moment for SAAHSP with these two particular both board members.
It is not the first time that both Philippa and Feroza make history within the industry. Way back in 2003 SAAHSP and SABA (South African Beauty Association) which was headed by Feroza Fakir, joined forces and SAAHSP incorporated all SABA members into their structures.
Philippa Crichton will continue to serve on the SAAHSP Board as a Board Director in the role of Vice President and remain advisory to the Ethics Committee.
Both these stalwart industry supporters have always put the industry first and share a passion for ethical professionalism and standards. This step ensures that SAAHSP’s leading role within industry as Professional Body is further cemented to meet the country requirements of empowerment.
