In an effort to offer a complete one-stop-shop option for their clients, an increasing number of South African salons and spas are including hair services as part of their treatment menu.
If you are one of these salons or spas and feel that your hair salon deserves recognition, then you are invited to enter the inaugural Salon International Hair Awards Proudly Sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional.
Each year Salon International, part of the Professional Beauty Group, hosts South Africa’s premier hair expo at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand at the end of August. The Salon International Hair Awards Proudly Sponsored By Schwarzkopf Professional have been introduced to acknowledge talent, inspiration and creativity in the industry.
There are three main categories – Creative Photographic, Business, Industry Awards – with several sub-categories within each.
Creative Photographic categories are: Afro Hairdresser of the Year; Fantasy Hairdresser of the Year; Cut & Colour Hairdresser of the Year; Up & Coming Hairdresser of the Year; and Overall Hairdresser of the Year Sponsored By Schwarzkopf Professional.
The Business categories are: Artistic Team of the Year; Salon Design of the Year; Marketing Campaign of the Year; and Manager of the Year.
In terms of the Industry Awards, these will be nominated by the industry itself to recognize the following: Best Equipment Supplier; Best Hair Care Brand; Best Product Training Brand; Brand Overall Brand Presence; and Best Sales Representative. Nominations for the Industry Awards will open in the near future – watch this space!
The deadline for entries into the Creative Photographic and Business Categories is 20 January 2020.
Entries will be judged by industry experts and the winners announced at the Salon International Gala Dinner on 24 February 2020 at The Venue, Melrose Arch in Johannesburg.
