Countdown to World Wellness Weekend

The 5th annual World Wellness Weekend (WWW) takes place this coming weekend – the 18th and 19th of September – in 1,900 venues and 982 cities across 133 countries, with safe, fun and free wellness activities held in person and online.

As previously reported by Professional Beauty, South Africa is one of the participating countries, with the numerous activities on offer coordinated by WWW SA Ambassador, Taryn Lilley, along with Madeleine Colling, WWW’s Johannesburg Ambassador, and regional coordinator, Rozanne van Antwerpen.

South African spa, wellness and fitness professionals, as well as the general public, can search for details of WWW activities at their local venues by visiting https://www.world-wellness-weekend.org/. Participating properties include One&Only Spa Cape Town, Cape Grace Hotel, The Spa at the Oyster Box, Canvas Aesthetics, LivWell Therapy NLP Coaching, Ellerman House, Jia Life Wellness Spa, Tiger Athletic Fitness & Conditioning, NShape Pilates, Capoera Valente, Conscious You Wellness Centre, Exclusive Wellness Studio, Fresh Fix, Splash H20 Diving, Food4Life, and JumpFit Arcade Fitness Club. Also participating are the DMR Institute of Beauty and the Authentic Beauty Institute.

Says WWW founder, Jean-Guy de Gabriac: “WWW is a pro-bono event that has been promoting healthy lifestyles in alignment with the United Nations’ SDG3 goal – ‘Good health and well-being for all’ – since 2017. From sunrise in Fiji (18 September) until sunset in Hawaii (19 September), hotels, spas, fitness clubs, yoga studios and hot springs around the world are uniting to organise safe, fun and free wellness activities. Outdoor (or online) fitness classes, sunrise or sunset yoga sessions, mindfulness or nutrition workshops (hosted at no charge) will inspire and empower millions of people to enjoy more vitality and serenity with friends and family.”

De Gabriac notes that hospitality groups and iconic venues all over the world are reaching out to local communities to share hope and enthusiasm with millions of people who are suffering physically, mentally or emotionally from the very challenging situation of the pandemic.
