Cathy Specific to host Professional Beauty Awards

Cathy Specific

South Africa’s favourite flight attendant, Cathy Specific (aka the multiple award-winning performer Brendan Van Rhyn), will host the Professional Beauty Awards & Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 15 March at The Venue in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

Van Rhyn is famous for his definitive portrayal of Dr Frank N Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’. He describes Cathy Specific as his alter ego and as the ‘Poster Girl for Travel’. This instantly intimidating, ridiculously regal blond bombshell has been stealing hearts since she made her debut in October 2007. As the darling of the media and a red-carpet-regular, this sassy stewardess has enjoyed immense success both on-stage and off. She has been delighting theatre-goers wherever she has landed and is the first one to say that the ‘sky is not the limit!’ Miss Specific, a familiar face on the corporate circuit both locally and abroad, is also the founding member of the famous drag troupe, The Trolley Dollies, and has been nominated as South Africa’s fifth best-dressed woman! She is one of the business owners of GATE69, ‘South Africa’s Premier Cabaret Theatre’ in Cape Town.

Miss Specific cordially invites beauty professionals to take flight and join her for a first class trip at the Professional Beauty Awards & Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 15 March.

At the Gala Dinner, the winners of the various Professional Beauty Award categories will be announced. These include: Best Salon (3 rooms or less); Best Salon (4 rooms or more); Best Nail Salon; Best Men’s Grooming Salon; Best Hotel Spa; Best Day Spa; Best Game Reserve Spa; Aesthetic Clinic of the Year; Best Nail Professional; Best Therapist; and Best Manager.

The winners of the Industry Awards will also be announced, honouring the best suppliers.
