April is in full swing! Here are the latest beauty trends for you to dive into and stay ahead of the current beauty trends across hair, makeup and skincare.

All things blue.

In 2024, the gorgeous colour blue is scheduled to take over the beauty world, and there’s a spiritual reason why. According to colour therapy experts, blue is broadly a soothing and calming colour with mood-enhancing influences. Blue is a captivating and adaptable colour that can be worn in diverse shades, from radiant electric blues to softer pastel shades.

As per Pinterest’s trend predictions, major traction was seen with searches like ‘fun blue nails’, ‘pastel blue makeup looks’ and ‘blue eyeshadow appearances’.

Blue will be amalgamated into an assortment of looks seeing a pop of colour with blue lashes, smooth eyeliner or even shaded makeup. The exciting thing is, it’s not just one shade we’ll be seeing.

Blue mascara, liners, and eyeshadows have also been picking up steam for achieving an attention-grabbing look. 'Blue eyeshadow always reminds me of the 90s and early 2000s,' says Chanel Make-up Artist, Anna Payne.

We are looking forward to all the blues flooding our feeds with many big names already showcasing the colour on socials.

Do less: Skin Streaming

What is Skin Streaming?

Skin streaming is a new trend that involves restructuring your skin-care routine to three or four basic products. Besides being more economical, skin streaming prevents you from vexing or injuring your skin by testing out the surplus of products on the market.

Sticking to the fundamentals, like cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection, is a good way to begin restructuring your routine as a mixture of products can upset your skin barrier.

The good news is that almost anyone is a good candidate for skin streaming – especially if you haven’t been seeing the results you want with your current skin regime. Be careful about what you’re removing from your current routine and try to seek advice from a board-certified dermatologist before implementing this change.

What do you think about honey blonde hair?

We’re anticipating honey blonde to be the IT colour of the rest of the year. A warm, cosy toned colour that ousts the ashy blonde, honey blonde is a low-maintenance alternative which suits everyone.

This is a terrific hair colour because it looks good on almost every skin tone. However, it is notable that hair colour trends can diverge depending on cultural influences, celebrity styles, fashion industry preferences, and individual preferences.

Various celebrities have exhibited magnificent honey blonde hair, setting trends and encouraging a lot of individuals to sport this famous shade of hair. The following celebrities—Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, and Margot Robbie—are cases of those who have rocked the honey blonde look.

Bringing 90’s back: 90’s makeup

We have seen some incredible trends throughout time, but there is one thing that never changes – people love a good 90s aesthetic!

Sheer eyeshadows, peachy pink lips, hair bows, ultra-lined lips, spider lashes, and many more are on the rise and popular. Currently, we can see countless celebrities combining a bit of '90s form in their favourite looks.

SPF 50 or nothing in 2024

We are all more aware than ever before of the damage that UV rays can do to our skin.

Not just behind some skin cancers, too much sun exposure can also lead to concerns including hyperpigmentation and premature signs of ageing. This can all be prevented by applying – and reapply – sunscreen daily. More potent formulas – we’re talking SPF 50 plus – are going to be trending this year.

The Ombre Red Lip

What exactly is the Ombre Red lip? It is an ombré lip blending reds and browns, usually finished with a high shine feel. To achieve the look, reach for a brown-toned, nude lip liner that is a bit darker than your natural colour, and use it to sketch out your lips, shading in from the corners to create a radiant effect. Then, top it off with a pigmented pink or red balm or gloss. And wala, you have the ombre red lip!

Balletcore

This is exactly what it sounds like. Think: soft pastel colors similar to that of ballet costumes and shades of pink, white, and cream in both matte and shimmery finishes.

Closest to trends like Barbiecore and romcom core, Balletcore fulfills a desire while still feeling operational. On TikTok, the balletcore hashtag has over one billion views, with creators wearing everything from leg warmers with jeans and ballet flats to outfits moved by films like Black Swan that employed fashion as a tool to express disapproval to ballet's unbending standards.
