On 19 and 20 September 2020, the 4th annual World Wellness Weekend (WWW) is set to be celebrated in over 100 countries around the globe.
WWW aims to inspire and empower people to make healthier choices and enjoy an active lifestyle with family and friends. Participating properties will host free and fun wellness activities during the event.
Says WWW founder, Jean-Guy De Garbiac of Tip Touch International: “The WWW objective is, despite the COVID-19 situation, to uplift the spirit of spa teams and of the public worldwide with ‘Wellness that meets WOWness’.
“Wellness means togetherness and the videos that will be shot in July and August, in gorgeous areas, will hopefully promote wellness tourism when international travelling is easier.
“In these challenging times for humanity that are filled with uncertainty, we can either endure the hardships that salon owners and spa managers are facing with their teams, or we can rise and take a stand.”
De Garbriac notes that iconic properties like Kamalaya in Koh Samui, Fivelements in Bali and Euphoria in Greece, as well as groups such as Anantara, Marriott and OneSpa (Steiner) will be participating in WWW. In addition, many cities around the world are wanting to position themselves as ‘Wellness Cities’.
To this end, the following cities have confirmed their active participation: Marseille (the 2nd most populated city of France), 18 thermal towns in Auvergne (France), Naples and Paradise Coast (Florida), Tigre and Don Torcuato (Argentina), with more to be announced soon.
“Through all the confusion of some countries reopening while others remain in lockdown, and with government agendas and fluctuating regulations, we can show a united front during the WWW event, to catch the attention of the media and share the same message: that it is both safe and essential for people to return to their favorite spas and beauty salons to boost their immune system, strengthen their vitality through energy meridians, manage their stress and pacify busy minds through serenity and resiliency.
“On September 19 and 20, from sunrise in Fiji to sunset in Hawaii, let’s offer creative ways to encourage each and everyone to experience wellness and become the best version of themselves,” concludes De Gabriac.
