Dr Schrammek MD visits SA 27 November 2017    Alexander Drusio Alexander Drusio, MD of German skincare brand, Dr. med. Christine Schrammek Kosmetik, visited South African recently to meet with distributor, Evolution Cosmetik, and stockists, as well as to launch the Solar Protect Fluid with SPF50+. Drusio was accompanied on his visit by export manager, Birgit Schmitz. The Dr Schrammek brand is found in over 55 countries around the world. At a launch hosted by Evolution Cosmetic on 9 November in Johannesburg, Drusio spoke about how his grandmother, Dr Christine Schrammek, launched the company in 1958 with the innovative Green Peel, an all-herbal peel. “We now have two brands, Green Peel and derma.cosmetics, and are famous for having launched the world’s first ever Blemish Balm, which recently celebrated its 50th birthday. This proves that the product has stood the test of time. “Our core values are to improve people’s lives by solving skincare needs, as healthy skin contributes to well-being. My grandmother, a cosmetologist, created her unique innovations at a time when women were not supposed to have their own businesses. “My mother, Christine Schrammek-Drusio, is a dermatologist and joined the business in 1989. We feel that the family aspect of the business is very important and last year my sister also joined the company. R&D is led my mother and she won’t release a product until she is 110% certain about its efficacy. Customers and partners are at the centre of our mission.” Drusio pointed out that his grandmother also launched an institute for holistic cosmetics. The company’s latest product, the Solar Protect Fluid with SPF50+, provides high UVA and UVB protection and is simply applied on top of the usual care, without leaving a sticky residue. Light in texture, it is anti-bacterial and suitable for all skin types. Ingredients include titanium dioxide (UV absorber) and shea butter for skin regenerating and conditioning.
